Winter is Still Alive!

cross country ski xc skiDespite recent warmer than average days, we still have plenty of snow on the north shore, particularly in the woods!

While snowshoeing conditions are not great, there are still several miles of groomed XC ski trails.  The picture on the right is from a couple days ago and conditions were very good on the Onion River Road.

Several local hikes including Caribou Falls, Temperance River, and Sugarloaf Cove all have snow covering the ground, but ice trekkers are highly recommended given the icy nature of the trails this time of year.

There are still limited rooms available for this weekend and it’s a great time to come up as Lutsen Mountains is hosting the Big Wu once again this weekend. Skiing conditions are phenomenal on the mountain and all runs remain open.
