We want you to travel safely and stay well during the Covid-pandemic. The health and safety of our resort guests, our staff and the community at large is our top priority.
While visiting the Bluefin Bay Family of Resorts, we ask guests to: 1) Be proactive about personal hygiene (frequent hand washing, etc.), 2) Wear a mask or face covering, and 3) Practice social distancing. Remember, for physical distancing the CDC recommends a safe social distance of six feet or more — or one moose apart.
We appreciate the new “Wear your mask” campaign created by the State of Minnesota as part of its Stay Safe MN initiative. You’ll see these signs on our buildings and badges on our website and in social media as a friendly reminder.
The “Stay Six Feet or One Moose Apart” campaign was created by Visit Cook County as a reminder to stay at least six feet or one moose apart in physical distance.
These two creative campaigns help us spread the message of how to stay safe during the Covid-19 pandemic, and you’ll see these signs in and around the resorts during your stay with us. We’re getting lots of comments from guests who like the fun and friendly reminders.

Pools, fitness areas & spa now open!
The most frequently asked question we’ve received from guests over the past month: “When will the pools open?” We now have an answer!
The indoor and outdoor pools, hot tubs, saunas, fitness areas and Waves of Superior Spa are all now open – under current MN Department of Health restrictions. Yes, we can hear the cheers!
Capacity at each facility is limited according to the MN Dept. of Health. For the health and safety of all, we ask guests to please adhere to maximum capacity limits and the safety protocols in each area.
Pools, Hot Tubs & Saunas: Signage at each pool and hot tub area indicate the maximum number of people that can be in the area/facility at one time. Please adhere to maximum capacity signage, as well as physical/social distancing guidelines (stay 6′ or, one moose, apart) when on pool decks and platforms and in the water.
Showers & Changing Rooms: Our showers and changing room areas have also re-opened and we’ve increased cleaning frequency and rigor. That said, some guests may still prefer to shower and change in their respective rooms to minimize contact.
Fitness Areas: Our fitness areas have re-opened, but these areas are small and capacity is lower for fitness centers. We ask guests to adhere to max capacity guidelines posted on the signage for each facility. If an area is already at max capacity, please plan to come back later.
Waves of Superior Spa: The spa is also now open to guests by advance appointment only, and with limited capacity and services. Guests must make appointments in advance and only those with spa appointments are allowed in the spa at one time. Masks are required to be worn in the spa, including during treatments.
At this time, we have resumed 60-minute massage services. Facials and other skin care services, and nail services are not available currently.

Yes, all three Bluefin Bay resorts — Bluefin Bay, Surfside, and Temperance Landing, are now open to guests. It was a long April, and we’re thrilled to welcome you back to the North Shore just as Spring has sprung – with gushing waterfalls, warmer days, and everything beginning to bloom!

The Bluefin Bay team has been working behind to scenes to modify public spaces and adopt best practices in our day-to-day operations in accordance with the Centers for Disease Prevention & Control (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), and state and local health officials.

Restaurants and Dining
Perhaps the next most frequently asked question is about dining. Both the Bluefin Grille and Coho Cafe & Bakery are open for curbside takeout and room delivery only. Coho Café is open daily from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the Grille is open daily from 4-8 p.m. We’ve increased outside dining spaces and picnic tables around the resorts, and we’ve added Family Style dinners at the Grille.
