The 6th annual Fingerstyle Masters Weekend at Bluefin Bay features headliner & Grammy award winning guitarist/song-writer Pat Donohue, Minnesota’s Gordon Thorne, and friends. The event weekend kicks off with an informal eveing of music Friday night, and continues with workshops on Saturday for all ages and all levels, and a concert Saturday night.The event will provide access for North Shore residents and visitors to quality workshops and first rate performances to learn or improve their fingerstyle guitar technique. “The fingerstyle guitar has a rich in history and is a form that all ages can enjoy,” says Gordon Thorne, the North Shore musician who is producing the event. “Experienced guitarists can get a lot from it, and for non-guitarists, learning about these techniques offers interesting insights into an American art form.”The Fingerstyle Masters Weekend kicks off Friday evening with North Shore favorite Gordon Thorne hosting an informal evening of blues swing and oldtimey American music in the Bluefin Grille. Workshops run Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and offer a variety of Fingerstyle guitar and fiddle instruction. The event caps off with a concert featuring world renown guitarist Pat Donohue Saturday at 7:30 p.m in the upper room of the Bluefin Grille. Attendees can attend all or any of the events as part of the Fingerstyle Masters Weekend.
