Summer weather, great food, and great wine. What more could you ask for?
Our first of 3 summer wine schools took place last night at Waves of Superior Cafe at Surfside. The full house was taken on a 5 course food and wine expedition that matched each delicious course with a specially paired glass of wine.
Chef Judi Barsness and sommolier Josh Landy started the evening out with a crispy flatbread topped with artichoke, tomato, spinach, red onion, boursin, and asiago cheeses and paired it with a white sangria complete with mango and an orange slice.
After the amuse, the first course was served, which featured Ahi tuna tacos. The courses that followed included Chicken Bahn Mi, flatiron Steaks with a bloody mary salad, and the evening was then capped off with a succulent rhubarb brown butter tart topped with rhubarb ginger ice cream. The rhubarb came right from Chef Judi’s own garden! The Ahi tacos, Chicken Bahn Mi, and the flatbread are all staples on the Waves of Superior Cafe menu.
Don’t worry if you missed out on this event in the Lutsen Tofte area as we’ve got two more lined up for the summer at Waves of Superior Cafe!
Waves of Superior Cafe is open 7 days a week during the summer from 8am – 3pm for breakfast, lunch, and afternoon tea.
