Explore the Shore Powered by Pedals – Biking from Bluefin Bay

July 17, 2017

One of the best ways to view the scenery is at 10 miles per hour. It’s easy to let the beauty of the birches, the wildlife, and Lake Superior go by while riding down route 61 in your car; but on a bicycle, it all starts to pop! Whether you are a pavement rider, a mountain biker, or still on training wheels, Tofte has some cycling for you.

Right out of our back door  is the Gitchi Gami Trail and Bluefin Bay offers complimentary Trek comfort bicycles to use on this trail! It goes from the Ski Hill Road in Lutsen to Schroeder and is paved in it’s entirety (Except for a short detour for construction, but not to worry! Just follow the signs with the red arrows!). The Gitchi Gami, passes by the Onion River, Temperance River, Coho Cafe, Bluefin Grille, Tofte Park, and many other beautiful North Shore Vistas! The trail does jog through Bluefin Bay: enter the resort by Coho Cafe, ride through the resort, exit the resort by the US Post Office, follow Tofte Park Drive, and catch the trail again at the end of the road.
