The Fisherman’s Picnic in Grand Marais Aug. 3-6

July 31, 2017

Join us for one of our favorite festivals in the Coolest Small Town in America!

Grand Marais Ledgrock Shoreline and Artist's PointThis coming weekend is the 88th Annual Fisherman’s Picnic in Grand Marais. The four-day festival begins Thursday, Aug. 3 and runs through Sunday, Aug. 6. It’s located in Grand Marais‘s Downtown Harbor Park and sponsored by the Grand Marais Lions Club. But it attracts everyone from locals throughout Cook County to visitors from across the Country, including many of our Bluefin Bay guests.

This year’s Fisherman’s Picnic festival line up includes crazy days sales, a craft show, daily contests and prizes, live music in Harbor Park, food trucks, blacksmithing demonstrations, kids activities, a Fisherman’s Picnic Trail Run 5K on Saturday morning, a street dance and fireworks on Saturday night, and a parade on Sunday afternoon.

The Fisherman’s Picnic truly is fun for the whole family and it’s something many of our Bluefin Bay Family of Resorts guests look forward to all year. The Lions Club hosts a BIG raffle, including a grand prize of $10,000, and the club will be serving up their infamous Fish burgers. You have to try one!

Some of the events during the Lake Superior festival require a collectible Fisherman’s Picnic button to be worn in order to participate, such as the Pizza eating Contest on Saturday, Aug. 5th at 2:30pm.
