Bluefin Bay - Featured in the Star Tribune Sunday Travel Section
The Star Tribune calls Bluefin Bay "ideal and luxurious" in a front page story in the December 13th, 2007 Travel section. "The
distinctive row of gray-and-white condos rises from the rocky shore; most units have wall-sized windows that bring the
mesmerizing view of Lake Superior right into the room," writes Chris Welsch of the Star Tribune.
Welsch goes on to say that Bluefin Bay handles "adventure-seekers and couch potatoes with equal aplomb." That's right. That's
why we say we have four seasons of recreation and relaxation.
If you're looking for adventure, there's no better time than winter at Bluefin Bay. Lutsen Mountains currently has a great
base and we run free shuttles to and from the mountains, plus we have great deals on winter
ski packages. We also shuttle guests to local cross country ski trails, which have been called "world class."
And if relaxation is more your speed, relax in one of our many pools or whirlpools, snuggle in front of a cozy wood fire, or book
a massage at our Superior Waters Wellness Center.
If you haven't already book your winter getaway at the "ideal and luxurious" Bluefin Bay, do so today. We have the snow and we're
waiting for you!

It is always a pleasure to be the best at something. And this year, Bluefin Bay is delighted to be named the Official Best Resort
in Minnesota.

Sally Forth digs Bluefin Bay

Sharp-eyed readers of the Sally Forth comic strip may have done a double take
at Saturday’s strip in the News-Tribune. Sally, the namesake of the strip,
is seen wearing a sweatshirt with “Bluefin Bay” emblazoned on the front.
It was cartoonist Craig MacIntosh's way of paying tribute to one of his favorite getaways.
MacIntosh was, however, surprised anyone picked up on the reference. “We’ve been up to
Bluefin Bay a couple of times,” said MacIntosh, a resident of the Twin Cities. “We just
love it up there. My wife got a couple of sweatshirts like that so I thought I would put them in
there. I’m surprised you noticed it.” The folks at Bluefin Bay were certainly
surprised. “I don’t know anything about it,” said Rob Buntz, who handles public
relations for the Tofte resort. “I knew it was us, we have sweatshirts exactly like that.”
MacIntosh, who was last at Bluefin Bay in October, said he enjoys taking his work with him to the North
Shore. “It’s great to be up there with the lake and the woods,” he said. “It’s
a fun place to work. I like Duluth, too, and the whole North Shore.” A Minnesotan since 1975, MacIntosh
has taken over for the strip's original artist, Greg Howard - who is also from Minnesota. Sally Forth is
published in 635 newspapers.
Note: Bluefin Bay’s sweatshirt was shown in the Sally Forth comic on Thursday, Friday and
Saturday (1/13, 14 & 15, 2000). The newspaper article above was in the Duluth News-Tribune
on Wednesday 1/20/2000.
