Each year for the past 13 years, Bluefin Bay has produced a beautiful calendar of the North Shore and distributed it as a thank you to our loyal guests. And, each year we invite our guests - past, present and future - to join us in the fun by submitting their prize photographs for consideration in the calendar. Winners receive generous prizes of lodging certificates at Bluefin Bay - grand prize for our cover photo is $1,000 in lodging.

This year's calendar is the culmination of the amazing contributions of many folks through their entries in the 13th Annual Bluefin Bay Calendar Contest. One hundred ten contestants entered more than 500 photos in our 2008 contest. This was a tremendous response and we would like to thank each of the entrants for taking the time to submit their prize photographs.

It's always a difficult task to evaluate so many great photographs and choose only 12 winners! This year we were delighted to have the help of two extraordinary professional photographers - John Gregor of Coldsnap Photography and Val Doherty of Val Doherty Photography. Special thanks to John and Val, who also own Waterfront Gallery in Two Harbors, for sharing their time and expertise.

14th Annual Bluefin Bay Calendar Contest Contest Rules & Deadlines

The 14th Annual Bluefin Bay Calendar Contest is underway for the 2009 calendar, and you are invited to enter. Contest rules have changed slightly so please review the rules carefully. Entries for the 2009 calendar must be received no later than May 15, 2008.

• Eligibility: Anyone is eligible to participate. Each participant may submit up to a maximum of 10 images (so please select carefully!).
• Grand prize cannot be won by the same contestant more than once every three years.
• Submissions: All photos must be in color, horizontal format, and submitted in both print and electronic versions. All entries are accepted when printed on high quality photographic paper and accompanied by the digital file on disk. Digital files should be a minimum of 300 dpi or 2400 x 3000 pixels in resolution at an 8 x 10 size.
• A contestant’s name, full address and phone number must be clearly displayed on the back of each photo and CD.
• Contestants are required to provide the names and addresses of all identifiable persons in the photo.
• All entries become the property of Bluefin Bay and will not be returned.
• Entries for the 2009 calendar must be postmarked no later than May 15, 2008.

• Awards: 12 photos will be selected for awards. There will be 11 gift certificates awarded for $200 worth of dining and/or lodging at Bluefin Bay, and one Grand Prize Winner awarded a $1,000 dining and/or lodging certificate. Winners will be notified prior to December 1, 2008.
• Permission to Reprint: Winners will be required to sign and deliver to Bluefin a publicity release and permission to reprint photos in various media, including, but not limited to, the annual calendar.
• By entry in this contest, all entrants grant permission to Bluefin Bay to use entered images in various media as determined by Bluefin Bay.
