Bluefin Bay #1 Wedding Resort

The North Shore of Lake Superior is home to many rivers which wind and weave through the rugged landscape from their headwaters towards the lake. The most beautiful and dramatic sections of these rivers occur within the last few miles of their journey as they cut through the bedrock, creating deep gorges and breathtaking waterfalls, before finally flowing into Lake Superior.

Bluefin Bay Guests have the unique oppurtunity to visit these spectacular destinations during their stay. The activities department provides guided hikes to the Cascade River, Caribou River, and Temperance River. In addition to this, they can provide descriptions and maps to any of the other rivers in the area.

All summer long, Bluefin Bay Guests have been taking advantage of the abundance of beautiful hiking trails in the Lutsen/Tofte area. Along with a guided hiking tour everyday of the week, our knowledgable activities staff can recommend one of many different hikes to fit your abilities/desires. The Lutsen/Tofte Tourism Association launched a new campaign this summer called "Skip Stones, not Vacations" aimed to remind people that even in a tough economy it is important to vacation and to spend quality family time.

Bluefin Bay was inspired by our tourism association's campaign and wanted to get in on the action. So we're launching a Skip Stones Contest on the Bluefin Bay Beach during our Saturday night BBQ event. All ages are welcome.

Age Groups
Toddlers: under 6
Children: 6-12
Teenagers: 13-17
Adults: 18+
Each contestant will be given three attempts; only the best skip will be counted. Prizes for the best skipper in each age group include free ice cream, free appetizers, and free BBQ coupons.
